With all this time on my hands, I have been spending a lot of time in the kitchen cooking fun recipes for my family! Unfortunately, my meals sometimes take a long time to cook and my family gets hangry while waiting dinner. Charcuterie boards are a GREAT way to keep people satisfied + they are so so easy!
Step 1: Choose your board. I like to use wood boards, but it really doesn’t matter at all! Just find one you like lying around your house and use it! A lot of times I use more than one board.
Step 2: Pick your cheeses!
⁃How to know which cheeses? Include a variety of soft and hard cheeses. Make sure you have cheeses you know the people eating your board will enjoy. Some crowd pleasers are cheddar, havarti, brie and gouda.
Step 3: Add your meat!
Step 4: Add something sweet to the board! I always include fresh fruit (if I don’t have fresh fruit, then I use dried fruit). Honey and berry jam are also great additions!
Step 5: Add savory additions such as olives, nuts + pickles.
Step 6: Fill the board with carbs!!!! I always like to have a warm loaf of bread and a variety of crackers
Step 7: Finish it off with fresh herbs! This is literally only for looks, so if you happen to have some mint or rosemary accessible to you, definitely throw it on your board!
What’s included in the board pictures above??
⁃Cheese: Cranberry goat cheese, smoked gouda, sharp cheddar, pareggio, Beehive cheddar with an espresso, lavender rub
⁃Meat: Prosciutto wrapped mozzarella
⁃Sweets: Grapes + blueberries
⁃Savory: Kalamata Olives, rosemary roasted pecans
⁃Carbs: bread + crackers
⁃Herbs: Rosemary
**the key to a charcuterie board is to use what is fresh and looks good! Don’t think too much about it, just throw whatever you’re feeling on there!**
